About SOV
Built by people who have done the work.
SOV is a creative marketplace run like a studio. We turn what an organization wants a space to feel like into a clear brief, find the right creatives, deliver the work, and protect the originality that makes it worth having.
We started in Greensboro because we've stood on both sides of the deal: the creative chasing an invoice, and the business unsure who to trust. We're piloting in North Carolina, and building the platform to work in any city or country.

The team
Six leads, one owner for every step.
Sets direction, protects the creative standard and builds trust with clients.
Turns how we work into reliable software, data and automation.
Translates place, audience and brand into a clear creative brief.
Turns approved work into controlled projects with a clear schedule and budget.
Turns finished projects into stories and proof.
Builds strong relationships on both sides of the marketplace.
How we use AI
People own the outcome. AI does the legwork.
Judgment, relationships, taste and accountability stay with people. AI helps us search, organize and catch what's missing.
How we measure ourselves
Not clicks or sign-ups. Finished work, paid fairly.
Our one number is paid creative projects completed well for both sides: the organization that commissioned the work and the creative who made it.
Completed on time
Milestones hit and projects closed out, not just started.
Paid promptly
How fast creatives are paid after an approval, tracked on every project.
Both sides satisfied
We ask the client and the creative, separately, at closeout.
Coming back
Repeat projects and returning creatives are the proof it worked.
Every year, in public
The SOV Creative Economy Report
What was spent, what it was spent on, and how much reached creatives, broken down by type of work. Shown as totals, medians and ranges only, and never published for a category small enough to identify anyone.
North Carolina's nonprofit arts and culture sector alone drives about $2.23 billion in yearly economic activity. We want the share that reaches the people making the work to be visible too.

The name
Short for sovereignty, built in community.
The name is the promise. Businesses keep a clear scope, budget and final say. Creatives keep their pay, their rights and their name. We hold the deal in between, and we believe the work gets better when people also gather in the same room.
Talk with us
Rather talk it through first?
Not ready for a brief? Start with a conversation. A person on our team writes back, and there is no obligation.
